Benjamin Häublein

Profile

Benjamin Häublein studied Mathematics at the University of Freiburg. He completed his studies in 2016 with a Master of Science degree. Besides mathematical contents, the study program included a field of application in computer science, with a focus on networks and operating systems as well as programming.

During his studies, Benjamin Häublein already gained practical experience implementing a filter in a real-time software for magnetic resonance imaging devices in the “Motion Correction” research group at the University Medical Center Freiburg. What is more, he led tutorials for lectures on Mathematics.
In his spare time, he is involved in IT-security-related open-source projects, e.g. in the development of a password manager.

Benjamin Häublein has been working as a consultant at cirosec GmbH since September 2016.

His main field of activity is secure development, which includes taking measures to build developer awareness as well as analyzing and designing software architectures. He places a particular focus on projects related to OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect. Also, he carries out source code analyses, penetration tests of web applications and mobiles apps, and creates secure development guidelines.

On top of that, Benjamin Häublein is a trainer of the “Hacking Extreme” and “Hacking Extreme Web Applications” cirosec trainings. He was involved in the review process of version 5 of the OWASP Application Security Verification Standard and is listed as one of the contributors.

Benjamin Häublein is a certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer.
