Security in Azure Cloud Environments

Using hands-on exercises and demonstrations based on typical threat scenarios, you will learn which security aspects should be taken into account for the design, configuration and operation of cloud architectures.

We will begin with discussing typical threat scenarios and risks in cloud environments. The first part of the training includes, among others, the following aspects:

• Data security vs. data loss
• Misuse of accounts or identity theft
• Insufficient cloud strategy
• Emergency concepts
• Attacks on availability

In the second part of the training, we will discuss specific risks in Azure cloud environments and present suitable measures to minimize these risks. This concerns the following aspects:

• Secure setup of an Azure infrastructure
• Securing the cloud
• Permissions management
• Logging
• Integration of Azure environments into an existing enterprise infrastructure

In addition, we will show the typical organizational and technical challenges of the secure operation of an Azure cloud environment and discuss possible solutions.

For the duration of the training, each participant will be provided with a training environment in Azure to put the contents taught into practice.

At the end of the training, the participants will have a thorough understanding of possible threats and will be able to efficiently implement the recommendation on the protection of Azure cloud environments in the future.
