Profile
Carsten Hilgenbrink trained as an IT specialist with a focus on systems administration in a shortened program from 2012 until 2014, in the course of which he also received the certifications as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) for Windows Server 2008 and 2012 and gained practical experience where he was responsible for the administration of the Active Directory and the Citrix environment.
In the following years, Carsten Hilgenbrink worked as a system administrator until 2017, where he was responsible for the physical and virtual infrastructure in the datacenter operation. Additionally, he ensured the operation of the firewall and the network infrastructure. As a quality management coordinator for the IT department he also developed processes and guidelines, played an important role in inter-disciplinary work groups for IT-specific topics and was entrusted with IT security and data protection audits.
Since April 2017, Carsten Hilgenbrink has been working at cirosec, and he is now a Managing Consultant. He mainly carries out penetration tests and security assessments of Microsoft-based systems and environments. In addition, he consults customers on technical security concepts, e.g., to secure the administration of IT infrastructures. This includes the tier model, privileged access workstations and hardening Windows with built-in tools. Another focus of his job is assisting customers in implementation and consultancy projects with the realization of privileged access management solutions.
Carsten Hilgenbrink also is a trainer of the “Hacking and Hardening of Windows Operating Systems” cirosec training.
